Album: J'en ai marre d'être deux by Mathieu Boogaerts (1998)
Genre: French Pop
Format: Album

Artist Background: Mathieu Boogaerts was born in 1970 in Fontenay-sous-Bois, France. After many years travelling the world, mostly Africa (especially Kenya), he started penning some minimalist songs. His sketchy, intimate sound sometimes mixes African rhythms with reggae, and his influences such as the Dutch singer Dick Annegarn, with whom he toured in 1997. His album "Michel" is accompanied by an amateur film made by Boogaerts himself. His first albums are pretty loud, maybe even described as a racket, and in ... Emerged in the 1970s era.

Music Scene: Emerged in the 1970s era.
