"When Black Beats Blue [Rarities]" showcases Seabound's signature blend of darkwave and electronic textures, emphasizing atmospheric soundscapes and pulsating beats. The remixes, featuring contributions from artists like Hecq and Haujobb, enhance the original tracks with layered synths and intricate percussion, creating a dynamic listening experience. The tempo varies across the album, with tracks like "The Promise (club)" and "Domination vs. Bound" driving forward with club-ready energy, while others like "The Attic" offer a more introspective, brooding vibe. Distinctive vocal treatments, such as the radical alternative vocal on "Hooked," add depth, while the live track "Watching Over You" provides a raw, immersive contrast. Overall, the production is polished yet retains an underground edge, making it a compelling collection for fans of the genre.
