Echoes

High Wycombe’s anthemic rockers turn personal strife into their most vibrant album. After 2015’s experimental Ones and Zeros, Young Guns’ daring is redeployed into nerveless self-examination as they consider the psychological effect of romantic break-ups, drummer Ben Jolliffe’s departure and leaving a major label. From “Bulletproof”’s rousing defiance to the space-glam stomp of “Mad World”, the punchier, grittier sound reflects a band rattled but re-vitalised into producing their most purposeful music yet.
