Havoc

Havoc is a riveting showcase for Circus Maximus' emotionally complex fusion of progressive metal, power metal and song-oriented hard rock. Tunefully commanding, vocalist Michael Eriksen soars over sprawling, intricately woven compositions that harness the full might of the band’s heady musicianship. The stirring “After the Fire” opens with pulsing synthesisers before blossoming into searing fretwork, while the dark and foreboding “Highest Bitter” locks onto a smouldering, all-powerful groove. Album closer “Chivalry” is an enthralling ballad that heaves waves over a stormy sea.
