Description: "Atavism"  is the fifth studio album released by the American heavy metal band Slough Feg (formerly The Lord Weird Slough Feg), released April 28, 2005 on the Cruz del Sur label. A vinyl edition was also produced by Forest Moon Special Products in a limited print of 500. 
The title of the album atavism, is the tendency to revert to ancestral type, thus the appearance of primordial humans in a cave on the cover.

Artist Background: Slough Feg (also known as The Lord Weird Slough Feg) is a heavy metal band that formed in Pennsylvania in the early 1990s and is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Taking their name from the Celtic folklore-influenced comic Sláine, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1996. The band combines influences from traditional heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Brocas Helm and Thin Lizzy, and English folk metal band Skyclad. Part of the San Francisco, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1990s era. Associated with Heavy Metal movement. Known for Metal style.
