Thirty albums in and Rod has some life experience to share. “Love Is” and “Another Country” takes him back to his roots and pus that Scotch brogue to good use, while the intervening years are covered with the funky "One Night With You" and wry listicle “Every Rock ‘n’ Roll Song to Me.” He’s softened up these days, of course: “Can We Stay Home Tonight?” and “Batman Superman Spiderman” are sweet homages to domestic bliss and he’s even worked in some relaxed reggae to retire to on “Walking in the Sunshine.”
