Dodge and Burn

The Dead Weather's third album seethes with paranoia, its buzzsaw guitars and jittery synths inducing anxiety at every pick and punch. Raising the blood pressure further, Alison Mosshart emits a snarl that mutates into unhinged bellows as Jack White pounds out his hefty Bonham-like beats—"I'm a bad man," she growls on "Let Me Through". Guitarist/keyboardist Dean Fertita mirrors her feverish attacks with stoner rock riffs and twitchy electro effects, turning highlights like "Buzzkill(er)" and "Cop and Go" into warped, dystopic psych rock.
