Chewing Hides the Sound" presents a distinctive blend of experimental and avant-garde rock, characterized by its eclectic instrumentation and unconventional song structures. The album features a diverse array of textures, from the jangly guitars in "The Model" to the eerie soundscapes of "Kill the Great Raven." Each track showcases a playful yet dark energy, with tempos that range from frenetic to contemplative, creating a dynamic listening experience. The production is raw and unpolished, enhancing the album's experimental edge while allowing the quirky melodies and off-kilter rhythms to shine. Tracks like "Jesus Was a Leprechaun" and "Picnic in the Jungle" exemplify the album's ability to blend whimsy with a sense of unease, making it a unique entry in the progressive rock genre.
