Rich Boy

Rich Boy’s syrupy drawl evokes a muggy summer evening in Alabama, but his delivery is agile and delightfully expressive on his debut. Even when he’s rapping about pimping his ride on breakthrough hit “Throw Some D’s”, imagery like “Peanut butter ice cream/Peter Pan seats” paints a vivid picture. It’s also a showcase for Polow da Don’s wide range of party-starting productions: “Boy Looka Here” is built around a minimal drumbeat for maximum emphasis, and “On the Regular” channels classic Dungeon Family soul.
