Maiden of the Cancer Moon

"Maiden of the Cancer Moon" is a live album by American psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service, released in 1983 on the Psycho Records label. A double album of live material from 1968, this duplicates a lot of the material on Happy Trails and adds considerably more. This performance was the first of two extraordinary QMS shows from an inspired run at the Fillmore East.. By summer 1968, when this concert was recorded, Cipollina and Duncan's guitar playing was reaching peak levels of intensity and their creativity seemed boundless. QMS shared the bill with the Electric Flag and Steppenwolf. QMS was the middle act and played two sets per night.
