"Extol" showcases a meticulously crafted sound that blends intricate progressive metal with atmospheric textures. The production is polished, allowing for a clear delineation of each instrument, from the intricate guitar work to the dynamic drumming. Tracks like "Betrayal" and "Open the Gates" feature rapid tempos and complex time signatures, creating an energetic drive that contrasts with the haunting melodies in "A Gift Beyond Human Reach." The album's use of layered vocals and ambient passages, particularly in "Behold the Sun" and "Dawn of Redemption," adds depth and emotional resonance. Distinctive for its seamless transitions between aggressive riffs and serene interludes, "Extol" stands out as a compelling exploration of sonic contrasts within the metal genre.
