"Heart of Our Time" showcases a robust heavy metal sound characterized by powerful guitar riffs and driving rhythms. The production is polished yet retains a raw edge, typical of mid-80s metal, allowing the instrumentation to shine through. The guitar work features intricate solos and harmonized melodies, while the rhythm section provides a solid backbone with a mix of mid to fast tempos. Tracks like "Crossfire" and "Higher Climber" exude high energy, while "Expressing the Heart" introduces a more melodic texture. The album's distinctive quality lies in its ability to blend aggressive instrumentation with introspective lyrical themes, creating a dynamic listening experience that resonates with the genre's essence.
