Description: The Whirlwind is the third studio album by the band Transatlantic, released on 23 October 2009. It is available in three formats: a standard edition, a double disc special edition and a deluxe edition with a 105-minute making-of DVD.

Artist Background: Transatlantic is a progressive rock supergroup consisting of Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings, Pete Trewavas of Marillion and Edison's Children, Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater and Neal Morse formerly of Spock's Beard. They formed in 1999 as a side project to their full-time bands until 2002. They reunited in 2009. Transatlantic are well known for their signature songs: "All Of The Above" and "We All Need Some Light", along with the nearly twenty-seven minute "Duel With The Devil". Emerged in the 1990s era. Associated with Progressive Rock movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
