Description: SMPT:e (from StoltMorsePortnoyTrewavas) is the first album of the progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic. The title is a play on words: it's both a combination of the band members' initials and a reference about SMPTE, a type of time code used in recording technology.
The song "In Held ('Twas) in I" was originally recorded by progressive rock band Procol Harum in 1967 (released on the album Shine on Brightly, in 1968) and was widely regarded as the first progressive rock epic.

Artist Background: Transatlantic is a progressive rock supergroup consisting of Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings, Pete Trewavas of Marillion and Edison's Children, Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater and Neal Morse formerly of Spock's Beard. They formed in 1999 as a side project to their full-time bands until 2002. They reunited in 2009. Transatlantic are well known for their signature songs: "All Of The Above" and "We All Need Some Light", along with the nearly twenty-seven minute "Duel With The Devil". Emerged in the 1990s era. Associated with Progressive Rock movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
