United States of Islam" presents a dense tapestry of sound that intertwines ambient and industrial elements within an experimental electronic framework. The album's production is marked by a raw, gritty texture, utilizing a variety of unconventional instrumentation and samples that evoke a sense of urgency and dislocation. The tracks oscillate between rhythmic pulses and chaotic noise, creating an unpredictable listening experience. The tempo varies, with some pieces maintaining a meditative pace while others erupt into frenetic energy. Distinctive layers of sound design, including distorted beats and atmospheric drones, contribute to its immersive quality, making it a challenging yet rewarding exploration of sonic boundaries.

With dozens of albums released under the Muslimgauze name, Jones was remarkably prolific, but his mainstream success was limited due in part to his work being issued mostly in limited editions on small record labels.
