Citadel" presents a dense tapestry of sound, merging industrial grit with ambient textures. The album's production is marked by a raw, unrefined quality that enhances its experimental nature. Tracks like "Infidel" and "Shouf Balek" feature layered percussion and distorted samples, creating a sense of urgency and chaos, while pieces such as "Masawi Wife & Child" offer moments of introspective calm. The instrumentation is predominantly electronic, with a focus on rhythmic complexity and atmospheric soundscapes. The tempo varies, oscillating between frenetic energy and meditative stillness, resulting in a distinctive listening experience that challenges conventional boundaries within the noise and electronic genres.

Artist Background: Muslimgauze was a music project of Bryn Jones (17 June 1961-14 January 1999), a prolific British ethnic electronica and experimental musician, influenced by conflicts in the Muslim world with an emphasis on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. With dozens of albums released under the Muslimgauze name, Jones was remarkably prolific, but his mainstream success was limited due in part to his work being issued mostly in limited editions on small record labels. Nonetheless, as critic John Bush writes... Part of the Manchester music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Experimental movement. Known for Electronic style.
