Description: Six Pack is a compilation album released in 1987 by the American blues rock band ZZ Top. The compilation encompasses the first five studio albums by ZZ Top plus El Loco into a three-disc set. The albums, sans El Loco, were remixed with 1980s percussion. This was done due to the success of the albums Eliminator and Afterburner, on which the band had found success from using such instruments. These were used for the single CD versions of the albums as well. Many fans disliked these remixes,and complained, preferring the raw blues sound of the original releases. Many years later the untampered versions of Tres Hombres and Fandango! were released on CD. The others have yet to be, but several tracks from each appear on the box set Chrome, Smoke & BBQ, and the 2CD compilation Rancho Texicano.

Artist Background: ZZ Top is an American rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. For 51 years, it was composed of vocalist-guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist-vocalist Dusty Hill, until Hill's death in 2021. ZZ Top had developed a signature sound based on Gibbons' blues guitar playing style and Hill and Beard's rhythm section. They are popular for their live performances, sly and humorous lyrics, and the matching appearances of Gibbons and Hill, who wore sunglasses, hats and long beards... Part of the Houston, Texas, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1960s era. Associated with Rock movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
