Description: The work was inspired by thirteen lunar mare for which the tracks are titled. The musical style is similar to Jenkins's Adiemus compositions and each track explores the meaning of its Latin name through various musical techniques. Unlike most of the Adiemus pieces, the lyrics for Imagined Oceans consist of syllables from the tracks' titles rather than invented text.

Artist Background: Karl Jenkins is a Welsh musician and composer. He was born on 17 February, 1944 in, Penclawdd, Glamorgan, Wales. After attending the University of Wales, Cardiff, he began postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London, England. It was in jazz that he initially made his mark. In the days of Jazz Polls he was a prolific poll winner, playing at Ronnie Scott's club before co-forming Nucleus, which won first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival. This was followed by a period with Soft ... Part of the Penclawdd, Glamorgan, Wales music scene. Associated with Classical movement.
