"Shin-Ken" showcases a meticulously crafted sound that blends intricate guitar work with powerful, guttural vocals typical of death metal. The production is polished yet retains a raw edge, allowing the dynamic shifts between melodic passages and aggressive riffs to shine. The album features a diverse array of tempos, from the relentless drive of tracks like "Death Before Dishonour" to the atmospheric interludes found in the "Book" segments, creating a rich tapestry of sound. Texturally, the layering of guitars, complemented by symphonic elements and tight drumming, adds depth and complexity. This album stands out for its ambitious structure, particularly in the two-part "Shin-Ken," which encapsulates the band's ability to weave narrative and emotion through their sonic landscape.
