Description: "Changing Horses" is the fifth album by the Incredible String Band,released in 1969 on the Elektra label. It was the first record released by the band after they had converted to the Church of Scientology and openly given up drugs, alluded to in one of the tracks, "White Bird" and in the album title. The album is dominated by two lengthy tracks, "White Bird" by Mike Heron and "Creation" by Robin Williamson. The two songs comprise more than half of the 50 minute length of the album; lyrics are given only for these two songs. The chorus of "White Bird" consists of a melody line that Heron taken from the Hindi film song "Aayega aanewala" by Lata Mangeshkar, from the 1949 film Mahal.

Artist Background: The Incredible String Band (sometimes abbreviated as ISB) were a psychedelic folk band formed in Scotland in 1966. The band built a considerable following, especially within the British counterculture, before splitting up in 1974. The group's members are musical pioneers in psychedelic folk and, by integrating a wide variety of traditional music forms and instruments, in the development of world music. The group reformed in 1999 and continued to perform until 2006. Part of the Edinburgh ,Scotland music scene. Emerged in the 1960s era. Associated with Psychedelic Rock movement.
