Description: On the Wings of Inferno is the sixth album by Asphyx. It was released in 2000 by Century Media Records. Short after its release, Asphyx disbanded again, and On the Wings of Inferno would be their final studio album until they reunited in 2007 and released the seventh album, Death...The Brutal Way, in 2009.
This album was re-released on 13 November 2009 as a remastered version.

Artist Background: Asphyx was formed in 1987 by Bob Bagchus and Tony Brookhuis. Chuck Colli was picked up for vocals and bass. This line up recorded the first two demos, after which Eric Daniels was added. In March 1989 Colli was replaced Theo Loomans and the band recorded the "Crush the Cenotaph" demo. Brookhuis then left the band and the remaining three recorded "Embrace the Death" album which was never released due to label problems. After Martin van Drunen left Pestilence in the early 1990s, he joined Asphy... Part of the Oldenzaal, Overijssel music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Death Metal movement. Known for Metal style.
