In Excelsis Dementia" showcases a dense and intricate soundscape typical of melodic death metal, infused with symphonic black metal elements. The production is polished, allowing the rich layers of instrumentation to shine through. Guttural vocals intertwine with soaring melodies, creating a dynamic contrast that drives the energy of tracks like "Sadistic Massacre" and "Black Upon the Throne." The tempo varies, with both frenetic bursts and slower, more atmospheric passages, enhancing the album's dramatic tension. Textures range from aggressive guitar riffs to orchestral arrangements, providing a haunting backdrop. This blend of brutality and melody, combined with a meticulous production style, makes the album distinctive within its genre.
