Description: Empire of the Obscene is the debut studio album by the American technical death metal band, Revocation. It was released in February 2008 under an independent label. This is the only Revocation album to be self-released, as the band was signed to Relapse Records in early 2009. The album was remixed, remastered and reissued in 2015 on Metal Blade Records, with Summon the Spawn EP as bonus material.

Artist Background: Revocation is an American technical death metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band was founded by guitarist and vocalist David Davidson, bassist and vocalist Anthony Buda and drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne in 2000. The band was originally known as Cryptic Warning, but it changed its name to Revocation in 2006. The band released three studio albums, Empire of the Obscene, Existence Is Futile and Chaos of Forms in 2008, 2009 and 2011 respectively, and subsequently signed to Relapse Records. Part of the Boston, Massachusetts, USA music scene. Emerged in the 2000s era. Associated with Death Metal movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
