Life for the Taking" features a vibrant rock/pop sound characterized by upbeat tempos and cheerful melodies. The production is polished, with a blend of electric guitars and layered harmonies that create a rich sonic texture. Tracks like "Gimme Some Water" and "Can't Keep a Good Man Down" showcase energetic rhythms and catchy hooks, while the instrumentation often includes driving percussion and bright keyboard elements.
