"Against the Law" showcases a polished hard rock sound typical of the late '80s and early '90s, blending rock and pop elements with vibrant energy. The production is crisp, featuring layered guitar riffs and harmonized vocals that create a rich sonic texture. Tracks like "Rock the People" and "Rock the Hell Out of You" deliver driving tempos and anthemic choruses, while "Two Bodies (One Mind One Soul)" introduces a more melodic, introspective feel. The album balances heavier instrumentation with moments of softer dynamics, as seen in "Ordinary Man" and "Lady." Overall, the distinct blend of catchy hooks and robust guitar work makes this record a noteworthy entry in the hard rock genre.
