Description: Black Swan: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2010 film, Black Swan. The album marks the fifth consecutive collaboration between Aronofsky and English composer Clint Mansell. Mansell scored the film based on Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake, but with radical changes to the music. Because of the use of Tchaikovsky's music, the score was deemed ineligible to be entered into the 2010 Academy Awards for Best Original Score.

The film also featured various new pieces of music by English production duo The Chemical Brothers, although they are not featured on the official soundtrack.

Artist Background: Clinton Darryl "Clint" Mansell, (born 7 January 1963) is an English musician, composer, and former lead singer and guitarist of the band Pop Will Eat Itself. After the disbanding of Pop Will Eat Itself in 1996, Mansell was introduced to film scoring when director Darren Aronofsky hired him to score his debut film, π. Mansell then wrote the score for Aronofsky's next film, Requiem for a Dream, which has been well received. Its main composition "Lux Aeterna" has become extremely popular, appea...
