"Epic: The Poetry of War" showcases Kataklysm's signature blend of melodic death metal and relentless aggression. The production is polished yet raw, allowing the intricate guitar work to shine through while maintaining a visceral energy. Fast tempos dominate tracks like "Damnation Is Here" and "Manipulator of Souls," driving the album forward with relentless double bass drumming and guttural vocals. The duality of melodic and brutal elements creates a rich sonic texture, particularly in the sweeping arrangements of "As the Glorious Weep" and "Era of the Mercyless." Each track is layered with atmospheric nuances, enhancing the thematic depth of warfare and struggle, making this album a distinctive entry in the genre.
