Description: Born to Mack is the first full-length album by Too Short, and his first major album release. The album was released on July 20, 1987. This album was re-released by Jive Records after the success of Raw, Uncut, and X-Rated. It was originally released in the summer of 1987 by Dangerous Music and in 1988 through Jive/RCA, although Jive Records logos did not appear on it until it was released on compact disc in 1989.

Artist Background: Born in Los Angeles, but an Oakland resident by the age of 14, Too Short was the first West Coast rap star, recording three albums on his own before he made his major-label debut with 1988's gold album Born to Mack; his next four all went platinum. Anticipating much of the later gangsta phenomenon, he restricted his lyrical themes to tales of sexual prowess and physical violence, with the occasional social message track to mix things up. After the release of Gettin' It (Album Number Ten) in 1... Part of the Los Angeles, California, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1960s era. Associated with Hip-Hop movement.
