Description: "Ringing Down the Years" is a studio album by English band Strawbs. The album was only released initially in Canada. Because of the requirement to have a Canadian song on the album, the track "Might as Well Be on Mars" by the Pukka Orchestra was included. (Not to be confused with the Alice Cooper song of the same name.) The title track was written by leader Dave Cousins about his hearing of the death of former member Sandy Denny.

Artist Background: Strawbs (or The Strawbs) are an English rock band founded in 1964. Although the band started out as a bluegrass group they eventually moved on to other styles such as folk rock, glam rock and progressive rock. They are best known for their hit Part of the Union, which reached number two in the UK charts in February 1973, and for touring with Supertramp in their Crime of the Century Tour, doing their Hero and Heroine Tour, which drew musical similarities and themes.
