A bridge between the globetrotting boom-bap of Dial 'M' for Monkey and the more intricate Black Sands, Days To Come is a low-key delight where jazz, funk and soul are boiled down into a potent concentrate. The singer Bajka provides a slow-burning centre of gravity on four songs, and Fink gives "If You Stayed Over" a folky tinge. But songs like the cello-infused "Recurring" prove that Bonobo doesn't need vocalists to make music that's deeply lyrical and delightfully intimate.
