Description: Carved in Stone is the 18th studio album by the German heavy metal band Rage, released 22 February 2008 on the Nuclear Blast label. The album includes a bonus DVD with their full show at Wacken Open Air in August 2007 (featuring a symphonic orchestra from Minsk, Belarus, which under the name "Lingua Mortis Orchestra" toured with Rage in Europe) plus the videos for the songs "Lord of the Flies" and "Open My Grave".

Artist Background: Rage is a German heavy metal band, formed in 1984. They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene to emerge in the early to mid 1980s, along with bands such as Helloween, Running Wild and Blind Guardian. Rage formed in 1984 under the name, Avenger. After releasing their debut album Prayers of Steel and their Depraved to Black EP in 1985, the band changed their name to Rage because there was another band in England that also carried the moniker. Originally the new name was to be Fu... Part of the Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Metal movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
