Up in It" presents a raw and gritty sound that blends rock and pop elements with a distinct edge. The production is characterized by a lo-fi aesthetic, allowing the instrumentation to shine through with an organic, unpolished quality. Guitars are prominent, delivering a mix of jangly riffs and heavy distortion, while the rhythm section maintains a driving tempo that balances urgency with a laid-back groove. Tracks like "Retarded" and "Hated" showcase dynamic shifts, oscillating between frenetic energy and introspective moments. The album's textures are layered, with vocal deliveries that range from haunting to fervent, creating a compelling contrast that enhances its emotional depth. This distinctive sonic palette sets it apart in the rock landscape of the early '90s.
