"Apple" presents a lush tapestry of grunge-infused rock and pop, characterized by its dynamic instrumentation and rich sonic textures. The production balances gritty guitar riffs with melodic hooks, creating an engaging contrast between raw energy and polished sound. Tracks like "Stardog Champion" and "Holy Roller" showcase driving tempos and anthemic choruses, while "Bone China" and "Heartshine" introduce softer, more introspective moments, highlighting the album's emotional range. The use of layered vocals and harmonies adds depth, particularly in "Gentle Groove" and "Mr. Danny Boy." Overall, "Apple" stands out for its ability to blend heavy, distorted guitars with melodic sensibilities, making it a distinctive entry in the early '90s grunge scene.
