Opener “The Journey” may feature Joseph Junior Adenuga rapping from the womb but he arrives fully formed as an MC on this energising debut. Measured and witty, he spins smart metaphors touching on everything from <i>EastEnders</i> to the hierarchy of UK pizza restaurants. Adenuga originally emerged as a beat-maker though, and his adrenalising production cuts grime with drum 'n' bass (“In a Corner”) and garage (“Doin’ It Again”) before shifting down to the more soulful rhythms of “Blood, Sweat and Tears”.
