"Bluefinger" showcases a raw, eclectic sound that blends lo-fi rock with a touch of experimentalism. The production is characterized by a gritty, unpolished texture that enhances the urgency of tracks like "Captain Pasty" and "Test Pilot Blues." Instrumentation features jangly guitars, driving basslines, and punchy drums, creating a dynamic interplay between melody and rhythm. The tempo varies across the album, with high-energy tracks like "Discotheque 36" contrasting with more introspective moments such as "Angels Come To Comfort You." The sonic landscape is enriched by layered vocals and unexpected shifts in dynamics, making the album distinctive in its ability to balance chaos and melody, evoking a sense of both nostalgia and innovation.
