Michael Cretu stated that the new album will feature an omnicultural sound unlike anything on its previous releases. On 12 September, the album was released on Enigma's MySpace page for pre-listening.[citation needed] After enjoying a huge success on MySpace (with over 400,000 listens in 2 days), several international MTV and VH1 web sites started streaming the album until 22 September.
Seven Lives Many Faces was released in DVD format with 5.1 surround sound, similar to their previous album A posteriori.

Artist Background: Enigma is an electronic musical project founded in Germany by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990. The Romanian-born Cretu conceived the Enigma project while working in Germany, but has based his recording studio A.R.T. Studios in Ibiza, Spain, since the early 1990s until May 2009, where he has recorded all of Enigma's studio releases to date. Cretu is both the composer and the producer of the project.
