Turning On

<i>Turning On</i> collects the early work of Cloud Nothings, made back when the band was essentially the one-man musings of a young Dylan Baldi. Recorded in Baldi’s parents’ basement (he was around 18 at the time), the music here is joyously green, tripping through ecstatic power pop (“I Am Rooftop”, “Morgan”) and fragmented ballads (“Strummin”, “Water Turns Back”), with hooks, harmonies, and a hundred clever little details buried under sheets of glorious noise.
