Description: The English Riviera is the third studio album by English electronic band Metronomy, released in the United Kingdom on 8 April 2011 by Because Music. Since the release of their last album Nights Out in 2008, original member Gabriel Stebbing left the band and Gbenga Adelekan had joined on bass and Anna Prior on drums. However, Stebbing is still credited throughout this album as a bassist.
The album was nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize.

Artist Background: Metronomy are an electronic music group formed by Joseph Mount in Totnes, Devon, England in 1999. The current band consists of Joseph Mount (composer, singer, keyboards and guitar), Anna Prior (drums and vocals), Oscar Cash (saxophone, backing vocals, guitars and keyboards) and Gbenga Adelekan (bass guitar and vocals). Their music consists of instrumental electronic music and more recently, with the release of Nights Out, vocal electronic pop music. Mount also releases remixes under the name ... Part of the London, England music scene. Emerged in the 1990s era. Associated with New Wave movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
