"More Mayhem" showcases a vibrant rockabilly sound infused with pop sensibilities, characterized by punchy rhythms and a lively energy. The production is polished yet retains a raw edge, allowing the dynamic instrumentation—featuring twangy guitars, upright bass, and crisp percussion—to shine. Tracks like "Psycho" and "Mayhem" deliver infectious tempos, while the playful "Kentish Town Waltz" introduces a whimsical texture with its accordion and fiddle accents. The album balances upbeat anthems with reflective ballads like "Too Sad to Cry," creating a rich emotional landscape. Imelda May's powerful vocals soar above the instrumentation, weaving through the diverse sonic palette, making this collection distinctive and engaging for listeners seeking both joy and depth.
