Yellow Submarine is the tenth studio album by The Beatles in the United Kingdom, released on Apple Records. It was issued as the soundtrack to the film of the same name, which premiered in the United Kingdom seven months prior to the album's release.
Half of this album contains George Martin’s lush score for the animated film, and the other half contains the title track (originally released on Revolver) as well as two Eastern-tinged George Harrison numbers (“Only a Northern Song” and “It’s All Too Much”). Lennon’s rumbling “Hey Bulldog” and the infectious “All Together Now” also add colourful touches that fit in with the animated film’s enduring legacy.
