Stripped is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Christina Aguilera, released on October 26, 2002 by RCA Records. Looking to transition from the teen pop and bubblegum pop styles from her debut album, Christina Aguilera (1999), she took creative control over her next album project. Musically, its music incorporates many genres, including pop, R&B, soul, rock and hip hop. As executive producer, Aguilera enlisted collaborators including Scott Storch, Linda Perry, and Alicia Keys.

This is the album in which Christina Aguilera’s provocative personality rescued her from a lifetime of lukewarm Britney Spears comparisons. Whether indulging pop music’s fantasies on the Redman-featuring “Dirrty” or scorching former critics on the electric-guitar-heavy “Fighter”, Stripped is the sound of a woman taking control of her public image. That doesn’t mean she can’t drop her guard: inspirational ballad “Beautiful” explores the real fragility that the fierce Xtina is so keen to protect.
