"On My One" is the third studio album by English indie rock singer-songwriter Jake Bugg. The album was released on 17 June 2016 through Virgin EMI Records and Island Records (US). Promoting the album for Radio 1's Big Weekend in May 2016, Bugg revealed he performed the majority of the instrumentation. Bugg also confirmed he produced a majority of the album on his own, though Irish producer Jacknife Lee joined Bugg for three tracks. "On My One" received mixed to favourable reviews from the press.
Whereas his previous two albums featured co-songwriting credits, Jake Bugg took a creative step forward by relying on himself. As principal songwriter, and after early consultation with producer Rick Rubin and Beastie Boys’ Mike D., On My One is filled with deeper personal strata and a range of musical styles. “Gimme the Love” and “Ain’t No Rhyme,” with beats and rap-singing informed by hip-hop and electronic music, signals a confident leap outside of his comfort zone.
