Nothing But Thieves is the debut studio album by English alternative rock band Nothing But Thieves. It was released on 16 October 15 in the UK and will be released on 6 February 2016 in the US through RCA Victor. It was produced by Julian Emery, with additional production by Jim Irvin, Dominic Craik and Larry Hibbert, and mixes by Cenzo Townshend and Adam Noble.
Conor Mason’s voice is a mighty weapon. The Nothing but Thieves vocalist has the bombast of classic rock forefathers but takes care to hold back and occasionally reveal some Jeff Buckley-taught sensitivity. This debut isn’t powered exclusively by precocious falsetto, however. It opens with “Excuse Me”’s swooping melodrama and beefs itself up with stadium-sized choruses on “Wake Up Call” and “Trip Switch” before lowering the lights on torch songs “Lover, Please Stay” and “Honey Whiskey”. It’s an album with more than enough, you fancy, to see this Essex five-piece fill those stadiums.
