Metallic Spheres is the tenth studio album released by ambient techno group The Orb in October 2010 and features Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. The album spent 3 weeks on the UK charts, peaking at number 12.

Pink Floyd and The Orb were the headiest bands of their respective generations, their psychedelic explorations sending audiences to the dark side of the moon or beyond the ultraworld. In 2010, The Orb paired with Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour for a momentous extended trip on Metallic Spheres. On “Metallic Side”, Gilmour’s leads coil around the deep-space thumps provided by The Orb before scattering like spilled mercury, while “Spheres Side” floats over a spongy beat that’s more comfortable than numb.
